Royal Enfield Classic 650
Royal Enfield has launched the highly anticipated Classic 650 in India after showcasing it at EICMA. The motorcycle expands the company’s popular 650cc range and combines the timeless appeal of the Classic series with the performance of a twin-cylinder engine.
The new Classic 650 targets riders who want retro styling without sacrificing modern performance. It blends heritage-inspired design, comfortable ergonomics, and refined power delivery. Prices start at ₹3.37 lakh and go up to ₹3.50 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the chosen colour option.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Design and Features

Royal Enfield’s most successful ranges. The motorcycle features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, curved fenders, and generous use of chrome throughout the bodywork.
Chrome detailing appears on the fuel tank, headlamp housing, switchgear, and wheel hubs. These elements give the motorcycle a premium look while preserving its vintage character. The overall styling reflects Royal Enfield’s long-standing heritage and appeal.
The motorcycle also offers a good mix of modern features. A digi-analogue instrument cluster provides essential riding information while maintaining a classic appearance. Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation system helps riders with turn-by-turn navigation during daily commutes and long-distance rides.
Additional features include a USB charging port and a slip-and-assist clutch. The clutch reduces lever effort and improves riding comfort, especially during long journeys and city traffic conditions.
The motorcycle adopts a relaxed riding position that suits both city rides and highway touring. Its wide handlebar, comfortable seat, and upright ergonomics contribute to a pleasant riding experience.
Wire-spoke wheels further enhance the retro appearance. The Classic 650 rides on a 19-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in MRF NyloHigh tyres. These tyres provide a balance of grip, stability, and comfort.
The motorcycle also stands out because of its substantial size and road presence. At 243 kilograms with all fluids, it is currently the heaviest motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s lineup.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Engine and Performance
Power comes from Royal Enfield’s proven 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine. This engine produces 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. A six-speed gearbox handles transmission duties and delivers smooth performance across different riding conditions.
The engine offers strong low-end and mid-range performance. Riders can enjoy relaxed cruising on highways while maintaining enough flexibility for city use. The twin-cylinder setup also delivers a refined riding experience compared to smaller single-cylinder models.
Royal Enfield has borrowed the chassis and subframe from the Shotgun 650. However, the company has tuned the setup specifically for comfortable touring and everyday usability.
A 43mm telescopic front fork with 120mm travel handles suspension duties at the front. Twin rear shock absorbers provide 90mm of travel at the rear. Together, these components help the motorcycle maintain stability and comfort over different road surfaces.
