Renault Filante Record 2025

Renault has unveiled the Filante Record 2025, an innovative electric vehicle concept designed to push the limits of energy efficiency and lightweight engineering. Rather than being developed as a production model, the Filante Record 2025 serves as a rolling laboratory that will help Renault explore new technologies aimed at maximizing electric vehicle range and performance.

Created in collaboration with French motorsport specialist Ligier, the futuristic concept has been engineered with a singular goal: to set new efficiency records by covering the greatest possible distance on a single battery charge.

Renault Filante Record 2025: Design

The interior of the Filante Record 2025 follows a minimalist and aviation-inspired design philosophy. Instead of focusing on luxury or practicality, Renault has prioritized weight reduction and driver efficiency.

The cockpit is compact and resembles that of a high-performance aircraft. One of the most unique features is the hammock-style seating system. Rather than using a traditional seat structure, Renault has installed stretched canvas material that adapts to the occupant’s body shape. This design not only reduces weight but also improves comfort while maintaining a minimalist approach.

The cabin layout is intentionally simple, emphasizing functionality and efficiency over unnecessary complexity. Every component has been carefully selected to contribute to the vehicle’s lightweight character.

The Filante Record 2025 features an exceptionally aerodynamic body designed to minimize air resistance at high speeds. Measuring 5,120 mm in length and standing only 1,190 mm tall, the concept combines the footprint of a large SUV with the low-slung profile of a supercar.

Its streamlined shape allows air to flow smoothly around the vehicle, reducing drag and improving overall efficiency. The design team has paid special attention to airflow management, ensuring that every surface contributes to aerodynamic performance.

The vehicle rides on specially designed 19-inch wheels engineered to minimize turbulence and air resistance. Michelin has also developed low-friction tyres specifically for the project, helping reduce rolling resistance and maximize range.

The collaboration between Renault and Ligier highlights the company’s commitment to applying motorsport-inspired engineering solutions to future electric vehicles.

Powertrain

At the heart of the Filante Record 2025 is a specially developed 87kWh battery pack created by Ampere, Renault’s dedicated electric vehicle division. The battery has been engineered to maximize efficiency while maintaining a relatively compact size.

According to Renault, the battery delivers a driving range comparable to the Renault Scénic E-Tech, which offers up to 610 kilometres on a single charge. The battery pack utilizes a lightweight carbon-fibre casing that helps reduce overall mass while maintaining structural integrity.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Filante Record 2025 is its weight. Despite carrying a large battery pack, the entire vehicle weighs just 1,000 kilograms. Renault achieved this through extensive use of lightweight materials, including carbon fibre, advanced composite materials, and 3D-printed high-strength aluminium components.

The chassis combines aluminium, carbon fibre, and steel in a composite structure designed to provide strength while minimizing weight. Renault has also implemented advanced steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems, reducing the need for traditional mechanical components and further lowering weight.

With its innovative design, lightweight construction, and efficiency-focused engineering, the Renault Filante Record 2025 provides a glimpse into the technologies that could shape the next generation of electric vehicles.
