Aprilia RS 457

After months of waiting, Aprilia has finally introduced the RS 457 in India, with a price tag of Rs 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). The RS 457 is entirely made in India at its Baramati factory and will be exported to other countries.

Reservations will start on December 15, 2023; however, delivery won’t start until March 2024. Test drives will be offered at a few dealerships starting in January 2024.

It comes with a 457cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48 horsepower. RS offers adjustable traction control and three riding modes (Eco, Rain, and Sport). A 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and an optional quickshifter are linked to the engine.

The USD fork and monoshock support the RS 457’s aluminum perimeter frame. Both ends of the suspension have preload adjustments.

It is the first bike with standard TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tires. ByBre uses a 320mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc to handle braking. Quality and finish are evident in the 5-inch TFT dash and controls, which closely resemble those seen on the larger Aprilia bikes.

The RS 457 costs Rs 4.1 lakh, which is considerably less than the Rs 5.24 lakh Kawasaki Ninja 400 but more than the KTM RC 390 (Rs 3.18 lakh).
