Toyota has officially revealed the production-spec C-HR+ EV, an all-electric SUV that was first previewed as a concept in 2022. The new model represents another major step in Toyota’s expanding electric vehicle strategy and will join the bZ4X and Urban Cruiser EV in the company’s growing global EV portfolio.
The C-HR+ is scheduled to go on sale in select European markets later this year. Toyota has also announced ambitious plans to expand its electric vehicle lineup, targeting at least six EV models in international markets by 2026. With its coupe-inspired design, advanced technology, and impressive driving range, the C-HR+ is expected to play a significant role in achieving that goal.
Toyota C-HR+ EV: Exterior and Dimensions
The production version of the Toyota C-HR+ remains remarkably faithful to the concept model that debuted in 2022. It features Toyota’s distinctive “hammerhead” front-end design, giving the SUV a modern and aggressive appearance.
The sleek profile is enhanced by a sharply raked roofline that contributes to its sporty, coupe-like silhouette. At the rear, large LED taillamps add a premium touch, although the connected light bar seen on the concept has not been carried over to the final production model.
In terms of dimensions, the C-HR+ is larger than many compact electric SUVs currently available in the market. The vehicle measures 4,520 mm in length and features a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. These dimensions help create a more spacious cabin while also improving passenger comfort and practicality.
The larger footprint allows Toyota to offer increased interior room compared to the standard C-HR, making the electric version a more family-friendly option without sacrificing its stylish appearance.
Toyota C-HR+ EV: Features and Safety
Inside, the Toyota C-HR+ combines modern design with practical functionality. The centrepiece of the cabin is a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that provides access to navigation, connectivity, and vehicle controls.
Toyota has also equipped the SUV with dual wireless smartphone charging pads, allowing both front occupants to charge their devices conveniently. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated air-conditioning controls, while ambient lighting helps create a premium atmosphere inside the cabin.
A large panoramic glass roof further enhances the sense of space and openness. Toyota has also responded to customer feedback by incorporating physical buttons for key functions, improving usability and reducing dependence on touchscreen controls.
Safety remains a major priority for the Japanese automaker. The C-HR+ comes standard with an extensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Key features include blind-spot monitoring, adaptive high-beam headlights, lane assistance technologies, and multiple collision-avoidance systems.

Higher-spec variants additionally offer features such as a panoramic view monitor and advanced park assist functions, making urban driving and parking significantly easier.
Powertrain and Charging
The Toyota C-HR+ EV is built on Toyota’s dedicated e-TNGA electric vehicle platform, which it shares with the bZ4X electric SUV. This architecture allows for multiple battery and drivetrain configurations.
Customers can choose between two battery packs. The entry-level version is equipped with a 57.7kWh battery and produces 167 hp through a front-wheel-drive setup.
A larger 77kWh battery pack is also available. In front-wheel-drive form, this variant delivers 224 hp, while the range-topping all-wheel-drive version produces an impressive 343 hp.
Toyota claims a maximum driving range of up to 600 km on the WLTP testing cycle, making the C-HR+ a strong contender in the competitive electric SUV segment.
Charging capabilities are equally impressive. The SUV supports DC fast charging at speeds of up to 150kW, allowing for quicker charging stops during long journeys. An 11kW onboard AC charger is provided as standard, while selected higher trims receive a faster 22kW AC charging option.
With its attractive design, spacious interior, strong performance figures, and long driving range, the Toyota C-HR+ EV represents another important step in Toyota’s transition toward an electrified future.
