Audi Q6 e-Tron

The highly anticipated Audi Q6 e-Tron has finally been unveiled. Serving as an all-electric counterpart to the Q5, the Q6 e-Tron marks Audi’s first production model built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). It will be offered in both standard Q6 e-Tron and coupe Q6 e-Tron Sportback versions.

Scheduled to hit the market in the United Kingdom next month, the Q6 e-Tron will be priced at £68,975 (approximately Rs 72.50 lakh) for the standard model and £92,950 (approximately Rs 98 lakh) for the Sportback variant. The battery-powered SUV is expected to arrive in India next year as a fully-imported CBU model, with an anticipated price tag of over Rs 1.50 crore (ex-showroom).

Audi Q6 e-Tron: Powertrain

The Q6 e-Tron shares its DNA with the Porsche Macan EV, both built on the same PPE architecture. This results in a substantial 100 kWh battery, providing a claimed peak range of 613 km (WLTP) on a single charge. The standard Q6 e-tron features a motor outputting 382 bhp, accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 209 kmph.

In contrast, the Sportback variant boasts a more powerful motor generating 510 bhp, with a top speed of 229 kmph and accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.3 seconds with launch control. Both versions of the Q6 e-Tron come equipped with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive technology, employing a dual-motor setup.

Audi states that the 800V PPE architecture supports DC fast charging up to 270 kW, allowing the battery to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes. The 800-volt battery is automatically split into two batteries with equal voltage, enabling parallel charging with up to 150 kW.

Audi Q6 e-Tron: Exterior

Audi’s latest battery-powered offering has a substantial footprint, measuring 4,771mm in length, 2,193mm in width (including mirrors), and 1,702mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,899mm. The electric SUV adopts the design language of other e-Tron models, featuring a sealed-off ‘Bulgarian Beard’ grille flanked by sleek light clusters.

At the rear, it sports a familiar connected LED light bar across the tailgate, offering customizable graphics, along with a faux diffuser element on the bumper. The gently tapering roofline lends the SUV a sporty stance. The side profile is expected to showcase the same clean lines and generic proportions seen on Audi’s current line of SUVs.
