Kia Syros: Design

Kia Syros Design

The Syros adopts styling patterns from global Kia SUVs EV9 and EV3 while featuring a compact yet tall body design that reaches just below 4 meters long. Vertical LED headlights form a dominant feature on the fascia, extending from the fenders along the grille’s upper section while maintaining an upright structural design. Generous cladding covers the lower part of the vehicle, while the top-spec variant displays a distinct three-petal pattern on its 17-inch alloy wheels that makes a striking appearance.
The design integrates body-colored B-pillars and black components across all A to D pillars, roof rails, and flush door handles into a glass area with a strong upward angle before enclosing the rear area. In the Syros model, L-shaped taillights extend in a high position on both sides of the rear windscreen. The bottom section of the rugged rear bumper shows a black and silver combination while hosting vertical signal lights and turn indicator lights on its sides.

Kia Syros: Interior and Safety Features

Kia Syros Interior

The Syros dashboard comes fully equipped with a simple and orderly design. The center console showcases 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, with a 5-inch display for controlling the climate function as the midpoint. Driving the Syros uses a two-spoke steering wheel with an offset Kia emblem, while the AC vents follow the dash lines from one end to the other. The Syros’ tallboy form factor enables efficient use of interior space, and this design requirement came directly from Kia India MD and CEO Gwanggu Lee.

The Syros model has numerous features, including seat ventilation for all rows, ambient interior lighting, reclining second-row seats with middle armrests, 60:40 folding capabilities, and wireless smartphone connectivity. Also standard onboard are retractable sunroofs, power-adjustable driver’s seats, electronic braking systems, and an advanced 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The Syros provides six airbags, electronic stability control, a Level 2 ADAS suite, and a complete set of safety features, including front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

Powertrain

The Syros offers two engine choices, which customers can combine with manual or automatic transmission systems. A 120hp and 172Nm powertrain with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit accompanies petrol Syros purchases. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder power unit generates 116hp alongside 250Nm torque in the diesel Syros specification. Both engine options in the Syros come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, but customers can choose from a 7-speed DCT for the petrol model or a 6-speed torque converter for the diesel model.

Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, the new Skoda Kushaq, and Hyundai Venue represent other SUVs comparable to the Syros in this market category.
