Husqvarna Motorcycles has officially unveiled the Vitpilen 801, expanding its premium motorcycle lineup with a new road-focused machine. The Vitpilen 801 arrives as the sibling model to the recently launched Svartpilen 801, sharing much of its mechanical foundation while offering a distinct design philosophy and a more aggressive riding position.

Built around the same platform as the KTM 790 Duke, the new Vitpilen 801 combines modern styling, advanced rider aids, and a powerful parallel-twin engine. The motorcycle is aimed at enthusiasts seeking a performance-oriented roadster that blends Scandinavian design with everyday usability.

Although the Vitpilen 801 shares its underpinnings with the Svartpilen 801, it features a noticeably different design. Husqvarna has given the motorcycle a cleaner and more streamlined appearance, emphasizing its sporty roadster character.

The front end receives a unique look with redesigned LED headlamps and revised radiator shrouds. Additional bodywork beneath the engine contributes to a more refined and aerodynamic appearance. These styling updates help differentiate the Vitpilen from its scrambler-inspired sibling while maintaining Husqvarna’s minimalist design language.

One of the most significant differences between the two motorcycles is the riding position. The Vitpilen 801 features lower handlebars and a more committed rider triangle, resulting in a sportier and more engaging riding experience. This setup is expected to appeal to riders who enjoy spirited road riding and precise handling.

Powering the Vitpilen 801 is a familiar 799cc parallel-twin engine sourced from the KTM 790 Duke. The liquid-cooled motor produces 105 hp and 87 Nm of peak torque, delivering strong performance across a wide rev range. The engine is designed to offer a balance of everyday usability and exciting acceleration, making it suitable for both city riding and highway touring.

According to Husqvarna, the engine incorporates semi-dry-sump lubrication technology and active crankcase evacuation. These innovations contribute to improved efficiency and durability while helping extend the service interval to an impressive 15,000 kilometres.

The Vitpilen 801 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of modern electronics designed to enhance both performance and safety. Riders have access to four selectable riding modes: Street, Sport, Rain, and Dynamic. Each mode adjusts throttle response and electronic intervention levels to suit varying riding conditions and preferences.

A 5-inch TFT display serves as the motorcycle’s information hub, providing access to ride data, settings, and connectivity features. The bike also comes equipped with several advanced rider assistance systems, including a quick-shifter, cornering ABS, and cornering traction control. These technologies help improve confidence and control, particularly during aggressive riding or challenging road conditions.

The chassis package is equally impressive. Suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable WP APEX suspension setup, allowing riders to fine-tune the motorcycle’s behaviour according to their needs. The Vitpilen 801 rides on premium Michelin Road 6 tyres, known for their strong grip, stability, and wet-weather performance.

Husqvarna is offering the motorcycle in two colour options, giving buyers a choice of distinctive visual styles. However, the company has not yet confirmed whether the Vitpilen 801 will be introduced in the Indian market.

With its powerful 799cc engine, advanced electronics package, premium suspension components, and sharp roadster styling, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 strengthens the brand’s position in the middleweight motorcycle segment. If launched in India, it could attract enthusiasts looking for a unique alternative to conventional naked motorcycles while benefiting from the proven platform shared with the KTM 790 Duke.
