The fourth generation Swift from Maruti Suzuki is now available in India for between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.65 lakh, which is Rs 25,000โ37,000 more expensive than the previous model. A more economical 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, more features, extra safety equipment, and an evolutionary design are all included in the new Swift.
The new Maruti Swift looks familiar
The new Swift shares the same design language as the outgoing model, but there are a few noticeable differences: a reworked radiator grille, a new front bumper, reshaped headlights and fog lights, rear door handles positioned traditionally, new alloy wheel designs, and new taillamps with a C-shape pattern. Additionally, the new hatchback is 15 mm longer, 40 mm narrower, and 30 mm taller than the previous Swift, although it has the same 2,450 mm wheelbase.
Nine exterior color options are available, comprising two new blue and red colors, three dual-tone paint jobs, and two accessory packages (Racing Roadstar and Thrill Chaser). What Maruti refers to as ‘energetic external and glamourous interior’ styling improvements are added to the latter, while the former includes sporty cosmetic alterations both inside and out, such as carbon patterns.
The upgraded and better-equipped Maruti Swift
The interior of the new Swift is recognizable from those of the Baleno and Fronx. The interior design is unquestionably more upscale than that of the outgoing model, and the larger, “floating” 9-inch touchscreen entertainment system takes center stage on the newly textured dash. New fabric upholstery is added to all of the seats, along with new HVAC switches, redesigned central air conditioning vents, and a slightly altered analogue instrument cluster featuring a 4.2-inch digital midrange unit.
In addition to the previously stated touchscreen, the top-tier Swift ZXi+ will also get a rear camera, power-adjustable and folding wing mirrors, cruise control, auto climate control, rear AC vents, LED fog lamps, and push-button start/stop. The standard safety features, which include six airbags, ISOFIX anchors, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, hill start assist, and ESC, make even the entry-level LXi model fairly equipped this time around.
The Maruti Swift: is one of the most economical hatchbacks in India
The Z12E engine, which took the place of the earlier K12 unit, has made the Swift not just approximately 3 kpl more fuel-efficient, but also one of the most fuel-efficient hatchbacks in India. Compared to 1.0-liter versions like as the Wagon R (24.35kpl-25.19kpl), Alto K10 (24.39kpl-24.9kpl), and S-Presso (24.12kpl-25.3kpl), it is more economical with its 24.8kpl-25.75kpl numbers. while Maruti’s Celerio (24.97โ26.68 kpl), the Grand Vitara, and Toyota’s Hyryder are even more fuel-efficient; the SUVs have excellent hybrid technology, while the Celerio has a smaller 1.0-liter gasoline engine. This is a thorough examination of the new Swift’s mileage relative to its competitors.
With a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission, the new Z Series engine generates a peak torque of 112 Nm and 82 horsepower, which is 8 Nm and 1 horsepower less than the previous Swift. Additionally, according to Maruti, the new Swift emits up to 12% less CO2.
