Ford F-150 Black widow

The Ford 150 has been around for years and has hugely contributed to Ford’s success. The iconic truck is a gift that keeps on giving. The Black Widow version is custom-built by BlackWidowTrucks, a brand under SCA Performance that takes the already ridiculous Ford F150 and juices it.

The Ford F150 lineup for 2024 is long and extensive. Buckle up; this is going to be a long one. We have six primary trim levels: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, Platinum, and King Ranch. For the enthusiasts out there, we have the extremely popular ludicrous F150 Raptor, Raptor R, and Tremor. It does not end there, though; Ford followed the trend and, in 2021, released their F150 Lightning, a fully electric version of the F150.

However, The Ford F150 Black Widow is not a model manufactured by Ford. It is a kit installed on top of an F150 XLT variant by Black Widow Trucks. This is more than just lifted f150, though, far from it.

You get a ton of upgrades on this thing; the appearance of the standard F150 XLT is merely the bass. It is a custom Ford F150 lifted pickup featuring a 6″ Suspension Lift Kit. That’s right, it is not a body lift but a suspension lift. This little mod substantially increases the car’s ride height, giving it a more menacing look and multiplying its off-road capabilities. To quickly get into this lifted F150, you get 5″ Oval Black Wheel-To-Wheel side steps.

Gigantic Black Widow 20-inch wheels, 35″ BF Goodrich AT KO2 tires, Logo Center Caps, Red Caliper Covers, two superb sounding exhausts (Gas only), a massive black grille at the front with custom paint along with hood and fender vents to further add to the aggressive looks of this machine. You will also find the Black Widow badging throughout its body.

It has better LEDs for better visibility and aesthetics.

Ford F150 Black Widow: Interior

Ford F150 Black Widow

The folks at Black Widow did not fall into the same trap as others, merely building a custom Ford F150 lifted. Nope. They’ve considered that these cars are no longer just for commercial use, and an iconic car like this deserves better. They’ve put tremendous effort into adding premium features to this beast so you can ride around town in luxury and style.

The F150 Black Widow comes equipped with seats made with premium leather with custom upholstery on the headrests, custom Stichting, a gauge cluster explicitly designed for the Ford Black Widow, doorsill plates with the black widow emblem, and custom stitching. The Black Widow emblem stitched dead center of the headright looks so good; it tingles your spidey senses.

Besides those interior differences, it is essentially an XLT Ford F150 black lifted. It has the same features as keyless entry, 10-way power-adjusted heated seats, and an 8-inch Sync 4 infotainment system with wireless Apply Carplay or Android Auto, which can go up to a 12-inch display, depending on your options.

Ford F150 Black Widow: Engine and Performance

Ford F150 Black Widow

The Black Widow F150 seems to focus only on changing the exterior and interior of the vehicle without messing around with its tried and tested engine. In the engine department, everything is the same. It boasts the same engine as the XLT, and plenty of options are available there.

Although no upgrades have been made to the engine, the Black Widow F150 feels much more sportier than the regular version. The higher ride lift causes it to have a higher center of gravity, and I expected that’ll cause a ton of body roll due to that 6-inch lift, but you don’t feel it as much as you’d expect. It stays firm and steady. OH! Also read our article on Ford F-150 Black.

That big 5L engine sounds terrific with the exhausts. It drives fantastic for a car with a 22-inch added onto a 6″ suspension lift. It feels like a supercar for the countryside, in essence. When you ride past a Raptor in a Black Widow, the Raptor looks smaller despite its size; that’s how high this custom Ford F150 lifted is.

Specifications:

Since the Black Widow F150 is essentially just an F150 XLT with an appearance body kit along with a suspension lift, it has the same specs as it. And when it comes to it, the F150 lineup has tons of options. Keeping that in mind, here are the specs for it:

Ford F150 Black Widow: Price and Final Verdict

The Black Widow variant of the Ford F150 can cost you between $80,000 and $100,000, depending upon any discounts or the dealership you’re with. The pricing can seem steep for an appearance mod, but the suspension lift is done incredibly well and tuned so that despite increasing the car’s height, it feels much more stable and firm to the ground. And, of course, being higher on the road looks fabulous and is great for visibility.

The luxury features offered by the XLT are all present here, from a fantastic stereo system to electric seat adjusting, all the luxuries you’re familiar with and would require. Pair that up with the sick exterior and interior design, a fantastic exhaust note, higher ride height for offroading, and better visibility paired with the superior driving experience; the Black Widow F150 is one of the best custom kits you can get.
