Ford Endeavour

The current-generation Ford Endeavour SUV, known as the Everest abroad, has been spotted on a flat-bed truck near Chennai. This marks the first sighting of the new Endeavour in India. The model seen is the Ford Everest Trend, which serves as the entry-level variant of the SUV in markets such as Thailand and Australia.

Regarding the launch details of the new Ford Endeavour in India, the model spotted aligns with the design patent filed by Ford. This generation of the Endeavour will be entirely new for the Indian market upon its launch. Recent reports suggest that the new Endeavour could arrive in India sooner than 2025.

There are plans to locally assemble the SUV at Ford’s Chennai factory. However, the American brand might introduce the new Endeavour to India sooner by importing fully-built units without homologation. This strategy would allow Ford to prepare the currently inactive Chennai plant for local assembly. Since the plant previously produced the previous Endeavour, which shares some underpinnings with the new-generation SUV, retooling for the new model should be relatively straightforward.

Even if imported, prices for the new Ford Endeavour in India could remain competitive compared to its main rival, the Fortuner, which now reaches around Rs 60 lakh for the top variants in some states. By the way also read the news Volvo Launches Single-Motor Variant of XC40 Recharge Electric SUV

The Ford Everest sold abroad offers multiple diesel engine options, including displacements of 2.0 and 3.0 liters. It also provides 4×2 and 4×4 options on select variants. The SUV prioritizes safety and technology, highlighted by large screens measuring up to 12.4 inches for infotainment and instrumentation, along with nine airbags and other advanced features, particularly on higher variants.
