Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen has introduced the brand-new C3 Aircross SUV for Europe. It will be available with both petrol and electric powertrains in those markets. Similar to the new C3 hatchback, the European C3 Aircross features distinct design elements compared to the version sold in India.

The length of the new C3 Aircross is 4.39 meters, with an optional three-row seating configuration. It shares the same affordability-focused Stellantis Smart Car platform as the new Citroen C3 and the Vauxhall Frontera sold in Europe. Offering more ground clearance than the smaller C3 and an elevated driving position for better visibility, the C3 Aircross prioritizes comfort and comes equipped with a high level of standard technology.

Sporting a boxier shape, the European C3 Aircross boasts aggressive aesthetics. It has a wider stance and larger wheels than the C3 hatchback, along with standard LED headlights, a head-up display, and rear parking sensors. Additionally, it features a smartphone mount for the infotainment system. Higher trim levels offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, automatic headlights, and a rear camera.

Specific powertrain details for the European C3 Aircross have not been disclosed by Citroen. However, its sibling model, the C3, offers a choice between a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 91hp paired with a 5-speed manual or a three-cylinder mild-hybrid engine with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The electric eC3 is expected to come with a single-motor powertrain producing approximately 136hp and offering almost 400 km of range.

In India, the C3 Aircross is available with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine and distinct styling. The electric version, eC3 Aircross, is scheduled for release later this year. Before that, Citroen plans to introduce the Basalt SUV-coupe in India in the coming months.
