BYD Seal

BYD India announced on Tuesday the debut of the BYD Seal, marking the company’s third electric car and its first electric sedan in the country. Prior to this, the company has been offering the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD e6 electric cars in India.

The BYD Seal which looks similar to the Tesla Model 3 which is currently not available in India. Bookings for the electric sedan have already started. 

Priced at ₹41 lakh ex-showroom for the Dynamic variant, ₹45.5 lakh ex-showroom for the Premium variant and ₹53 lakh ex-showroom for the top-end Performance variant.

BYD claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. Impressive speed aside, the BYD Seal also boasts a remarkable mileage of 650 km. BYD asserts that with just 15 minutes of charging, it can travel up to 200 km.

The BYD Seal Notable Features and Specifications

The BYD Seal boasts a coupe-like silhouette, complemented by double-U floating LED headlamps and inserts on the front bumper. Notable features include large C-shaped DRLs, 19-inch diamond-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels, and flush-fitting electronic door handles.

At the rear, the BYD Seal is equipped with a full-width LED bar, LED taillamps, and a black diffuser. Additionally, the electric sedan features a panoramic sunroof. 

Moving to the interior, the BYD Seal boasts a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, accompanied by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a heads-up display. The front seats are both heated and cooled and offer 8-way electronic adjustment.

For safety, the BYD Seal comes equipped with eight airbags, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, ABS with hill hold, and more.

The Dynamic variant of the BYD Seal features a single motor producing 204 PS power and 310 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 61.4 kWh battery, providing a range of 460 km on a single charge.

Moving to the top-end Performance variant, it features dual-motor AWD producing 530 PS power and 670 Nm of peak torque. It shares the same 82.5 kWh battery pack as the Premium variant, providing a range of 520 km.
