The Kia PV5 has been announced ahead of its debut, which was expected for February 27 at the carmaker’s 2025 EV Day event. The PV5 is Kia’s first van and the initial model for its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV), a modular platform designed to produce all-electric multi-purpose utility vehicles targeted at the private and commercial sectors.
Kia PV5: Exterior Design
The PV5 will be available in two body styles: Passenger and Cargo. While both have the same core design, the latter will eschew rear seats in favor of luggage space. The PV5 Passenger is more consumer-facing, with high-mounted angular LED strips that double as indicators and lower central headlight units. The PV5’s charging port is in the center of the fascia, with a front-facing camera above it.
Over to the side, the PV5 Passenger’s lower half is covered in plastic body cladding, while the upper half features big side mirrors and a wide glass section. The pillars, bonnet, and upper half of the fenders are all blacked out. The PV5 Passenger features a single lift-up boot lid, while the Cargo body style has dual tailgate doors open from the side.

Kia PV5: Interior
Kia has just released the PV5’s exterior, with full interior shots expected at the coming EV Day. However, the outside shots provide views of the inside, including separate screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system and robust grab handles on the A-pillars.
The Kia PV5 will primarily compete with Volkswagen’s ID Buzz in international markets. Whether Kia intends to deliver the PV5 to India is unknown, but the company’s 2025 EV Day could provide more light on the matter.
