Suzuki Motor Corporation has officially introduced its first mass-production battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Suzuki e VITARA, representing a significant advancement in its commitment to achieving carbon-neutral mobility. Maruti Suzuki e VITARA: What we know so far
The e VITARA is based on the โeVXโ concept, first presented at the 2023 Auto Expo in India and subsequently at the Japan Mobility Show. As Suzukiโs inaugural globally strategic BEV, the e VITARA has been developed under the โEmotional Versatile Cruiserโ concept, combining the modern attributes of a BEV with the durability of an SUV. Key design aspects include a high-tech, rugged exterior featuring large-diameter tyres and a long wheelbase, as well as an interior emphasizing advanced functionality with a robust aesthetic.
The vehicle is powered by a lithium-iron-phosphate battery and an integrated eAxle system, delivering rapid acceleration and energy-efficient performance. Suzukiโs proprietary electric 4WD system, โALLGRIP-e,โ enhances vehicle control and off-road capability, including a trail mode for improved maneuverability on rough terrain.

The e VITARA is constructed on the โHEARTECT-eโ platform, designed specifically for BEVs. This platform allows for an optimized battery capacity, a spacious interior, and lightweight structural efficiency. The model will be available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations, with a battery range of 49-61 kWh and a seating capacity of five.
President Toshihiro Suzuki highlighted that the e VITARAโs launch is a foundational step in Suzukiโs broader carbon-neutral strategy, adding that the company intends to continue expanding its electric lineup to address regional demands globally.
