McLaren W1: Powertrain and Performance
At the heart of the McLaren W1 lies an all-new V8 hybrid powertrain, producing an astonishing 1,275 PS. This power is delivered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with an output of 233 PS per liter—the highest specific output of any McLaren engine. Coupled with a power-dense E-module that adds an additional 347 PS, the W1 boasts the highest power output of any McLaren to date. The combination of the lightweight engineering, an 8-speed gearbox with E-differential, and rear-wheel drive results in a remarkable power-to-weight ratio of 911 PS per tonne, enabling the W1 to accelerate from 0-200 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h.
