The Thar 5-door, one of Mahindra’s most anticipated SUVs this year, will debut in India on August 15. Mahindra has not only revealed the vehicle’s exterior but also stated that the model would be known as the Thar Roxx.
Thar Roxx: Exterior and Interior Design
The photographs released by Mahindra on 21st July reflect the specifications we saw when the Thar 5-door was spotted unmasked. Instead of the seven-slot configuration of the three-door Thar, the Thar Roxx lifestyle SUV will have a revolutionary double-stacked six-slot layout. The circular headlamps remain, but an LED projector with C-shaped DRLs will be installed.
It will have a dual 10.25-inch display, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, LED lighting throughout, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and ADAS.
Thar Roxx: Powertrain
The Thar Roxx will have three engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a 2.0-litre petrol, with manual and automatic transmission options. Similar to the 3-door, the Roxx, will be offered in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
Thar Roxx: Launch and Expected Price
The Thar 5-door’s production has begun ahead of its August 15 launch, and dealer bookings have begun unofficially. Upon arrival, the Thar 5-door will take precedence over the Thar 3-door in Mahindra’s range. It will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door and the Hyundai Creta, with prices starting around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
