Tata Altroz Racer

The Tata Altroz Racer, which is scheduled to be on sale next month, has a teaser produced by Tata Motors. More features, a sharper exterior design, and a more potent engine than the regular Altroz are all included in this sportier edition of Tata’s top hatchback.

The teaser confirms that the Tata Altroz Racer’s exterior will be finished in a distinctive dual-tone of black and orange. In the Racer, the black trim will extend to the pillars in addition to the roof, wing mirrors, and window line as it does on the normal dual-tone Altroz. The 16-inch alloys, however, are identical to the normal model.

According to earlier spy photos, the Altroz Racer will have white racing stripes on its bonnet, exactly like the vehicle on display at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Additionally, “Racer” badges and a slightly updated grille are anticipated for this model.

There will probably be cosmetic alterations made to the Altroz Racer’s cabin to match its sportier exterior. These include the redesigned upholstery and the dashboard’s highlights. Tata is also anticipated to add more features to the Racer than the base Altroz, including a voice-activated sunroof, a segment-first ventilated front seat, a 360-degree camera, and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen.

The Racer will be equipped with the Nexon’s 120 horsepower, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which will give it 10 horsepower and 30 Nm more power than the basic Altroz iTurbo’s 110 horsepower. This will also put it in direct rivalry with the 1.0-liter turbo-petrol Hyundai i20 N Line, which generates 120 horsepower and 172 Nm. It is anticipated that Tata will only provide a 6-speed manual transmission with the Racer.

The iTurbo, which is priced between Rs 9.20 lakh and Rs 10.10 lakh, will likely be less expensive than the Altroz Racer. The i20 N Line, which costs between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 11.42 lakh for manual versions and between Rs. 11.15 lakh and Rs. 12.52 lakh for automatic trims, will be its rival. With their 100 horsepower, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engines, the Maruti Fronx (Rs 9.73 lakhโ€“12.86 lakh) and Toyota Taisor (Rs 10.56 lakhโ€“12.88 lakh) will also compete with the Altroz Racer.
