Mahindra Thar Earth

Mahindra recently unveiled the Earth Edition for the Thar SUV. This distinctive iteration, constructed upon the LX variant, boasts enhancements both internally and externally, along with several disparities from the conventional model. Starting at Rs 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom), it stands at a premium of Rs 40,000 compared to the typical LX iterations. 

Mahindra Thar vs Thar Earth: Exterior

The Mahindra Thar Earth Edition catches your eye mainly because of its unique Desert Fury exterior color. It’s a matte beige shade that’s smooth to the touch. It comes with body decals as a standard feature. If you want them on the regular Thar, you can add them, but they’ll have a different design. Also, the special edition Thar has Desert Fury-colored accents on the side mirrors and front grille, as well as black badges.

Mahindra Thar vs Thar Earth: Interior 

The most noticeable change inside the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition is the black and beige leatherette seats, which are different from the all-black fabric seats in the regular Thar. Also, the Earth Edition has a black dashboard with Desert Fury accents on the AC vents and steering wheel.ย 

Additionally, this special model has sand dune-inspired patterns on the seat headrests and unique Earth Edition VIN plates starting with โ€˜1′. Lastly, touches of dark chrome and glossy black plastics add to the overall interior vibe.

Mahindra Thar vs Thar Earth: Powertrain and Transmission 

You can only configure the standard mahindra thar with four-wheel-drive, while the LX variants of the Mahindra Thar Earth offer both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive. The earth edition has two engine options 150 PS 2-liter turbo-petrol engine and 130 PS 2.2-litre diesel engine whereas the standard Mahindra Thar only offers an additional 118 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine option (RWD only). Oh! Both of the models come with transmission choices including a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission (but  the 1.5-litre diesel engine which is available with the standard mahindra Thar model can only paired with a 6-speed manual transmission).
