Mercedes-Benz GLS

Mercedes-Benz India has revealed that the GLS facelift will debut on January 8, 2024, signaling the beginning of the German brand’s aggressive launch schedule for the upcoming year.

The brand’s 2024 Annual Press Conference is likely to begin at 12:30 pm, and at the conclusion of the event, prices for Mercedes’s redesigned flagship SUV will be revealed.

Expected Changes: Mercedes Benz GLS

The 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine in the GLS 450 4Matic and the 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine in the Mercedes Benz GLS 400d 4Matic are expected to be features of the facelift, similar to the current GLS on sale in India.

On both of the GLS facelift variants, the 4Matic AWD system and a 9-speed automatic gearbox will come standard. Prices are expected to be above Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom, India).

The facelift’s external cosmetic changes over the outgoing GLS include a new front bumper with air inlet grilles and high-gloss black surrounds, new tail lamps with three horizontal block patterns that form a new motif, and four horizontal louvers in the grille that get a Silver Shadow finish.

On the inside, however, there are more improvements than on the outside. The most significant is the updated infotainment system for MBUX. A permanent low-speed 360-degree camera, a glossy brown lime wood trim, and new upholstery options with Bahia Brown and Catalana Beige leather are among the other modifications.

Over the course of this year, the German manufacturer will also launch nine new models in India, starting with the GLS facelift.
