December 14th, Kia Sonet to get a facelift and, with it, several significant modifications for the well-liked Mini SUV. The Sonet redesign is visible from the outside, where it has new alloy wheels, a reworked grille, and modified headlights with drop-down LED DRL components. The rear wraparound tail-light design has been exchanged for new vertical units interconnected by an LED light bar that resembles the new Seltos.

Inside, the Sonet facelift includes new HVAC switchgear and a slightly modified dashboard. The larger units from the Seltos facelift may find their way into the infotainment and driver screens, and a revised digital instrument cluster from the Venue and Carens will also be coming. Expect updated trim and material choices, six airbags that are standard on the entire range, and the ADAS suite that is available on the Hyundai Venue, its sibling vehicle.

Under the hood, the existing Sonet facelift powertrain optionsโ€”the 83 horsepower, 115 Nm, 1.2-liter petrol engine; the 120 horsepower, 172 Nm, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine; and the 116 horsepower, 250 Nm, 1.5-liter diesel engineโ€”will most likely remain unchanged. The petrol engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel and turbo-petrol engines will be coupled to a 6-speed iMT. Additionally, a 6-speed and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic will be given to them, respectively. There are rumors that some trims will see a return of the diesel-manual.
