In a recent development, details from the Mahindra XUV700 manual have surfaced, hinting at anticipated updates and new features for the SUV. Since its launch in August 2021, the XUV700 has seen no significant changes, but it appears Mahindra is gearing up to enhance its flagship model with fresh features early next year.
The current XUV700 lineup offers both 5-seater and 7-seater options, both equipped with bench seats for the second row. Notably, captain seats, a feature present in competitors like the Tata Safari, Toyota Innova, and Mahindra’s own Scorpio N, have been absent. The leaked manual suggests that Mahindra will introduce captain seats with individual armrests, providing passengers with reclinable comfort and adjustable angles, a significant addition for long journeys.

Additionally, the update will include an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror with anti-glare auto adjustment. This feature comes with a sensor, an indicator light, and a brightness switch. Particularly beneficial for nighttime driving, the mirror’s reflection rate adapts to the varying light intensity, countering the glare from high beam users on Indian roads.
These updates position Mahindra to compete more aggressively with rivals like the Tata Safari and Harrier, which have recently undergone substantial feature upgrades. While more features are expected, Mahindra aims to maintain the existing engine options, including the 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
In parallel, Mahindra is actively testing an all-electric version of the XUV700, set to rival the upcoming Tata Safari EV. The electric variant is anticipated to offer a driving range of up to 500 km on a full charge, signaling Mahindra’s foray into the growing electric SUV market.
