There are sporty touches inside, like seats with a tartan design and red stitching on the front seats that say “GTI.” There is a red GTI insert in the leather-wrapped steering wheel. A 12.9-inch tablet infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display are some of the tech features that stand out. With a sunroof, a wireless charging pad, paddle shifters, 30-color ambient lighting, heated front seats, and an automatic climate control system with three zones, the Golf GTI has everything you could want.

Power and Performance

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 PS and 370 Nm of torque. This engine is also found in higher trims of the Tiguan R-Line. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Volkswagen has equipped the GTI with an electronically controlled front-axle differential lock (VAQ) to improve grip and cornering stability.

The hot hatch sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h, electronically limited. For comparison, the Mini Cooper S does 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and tops out at 242 km/h.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The Golf GTI has seven seat belts, a rearview camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and a system that checks the pressure of the tyres to make sure the car is safe. It also comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include features like back cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and lane-change assist.
