Brixton Motorcycles introduced four motorcycles into the Indian market: the Cromwell 1200 (Rs 7.84 lakh), Cromwell 1200X (Rs 9.11 lakh), Crossfire 500X (Rs 4.74 lakh), and Crossfire 500XC (Rs 5.19 lakh). The Cromwell 1200 pair is powered by a 1,200cc parallel-twin mill, while the Crossfire 500 variants have a 486cc twin-cylinder motor.
Brixton Crossfire 500X
The Crossfire 500X, which has the shape of a neo-retro roadster and costs Rs 4.74 lakh, is the least expensive of the four Brixton motorcycles in India. We are reminded of one of the Husqvarna Vitpilen models by its streamlined lines and sparse bodywork. The 486cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that powers the Crossfire 500X produces 47.6 horsepower and 43 Nm of torque.
The bike has adjustable KYB suspension, J. Juan brakes, and all-LED lighting. A 240mm disc is connected to a single-piston unit at the back, while a radial 4-piston caliper is mated to a 320mm disc at the front. ABS with dual channels is standard. Fortunately, the Crossfire 500X can accommodate tubeless tires even if 17-inch wire-spoke wheels power it. The front and rear tire sizes, 120/70-ZR17 and 160/60-ZR17, respectively, are comparable to the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. It weighs 190 kilograms, has a brimmed 13.5-liter petrol tank, and a seat height of 795 mm.
Crossfire 500XC
A scrambler built on the same platform as the Crossfire 500X is the Crossfire 500XC. With a 19-inch front wheel, a thin flyscreen, and a tall, beaky front fender, the 500XC’s front end has seen the most alterations. It weighs 5 kg more than the Crossfire 500X at 195 kilograms, and its 839mm perch is noticeably taller. On top of the Crossfire 500X, you must pay an extra Rs 45,000 if you like the Crossfire 500XC’s appearance, which comes to Rs 5.19 lakh.
Brixton Cromwell 1200
The Cromwell 1200 is a neo-retro motorbike with a robust Triumph Bonneville influence. The 1,222cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that powers the Brixton generates 108Nm of torque and 83 horsepower.
Despite its vintage appearance, the Cromwell 1200 offers several contemporary technologies, like all-LED lighting, two riding modes (Sport and Eco), traction control, and cruise control. A TFT display and an anti-theft mechanism are also used.
The Cromwell 1200 has tubed tires on its 18/17-inch spoked rims, whereas the smaller Brixton 500 variants use tubeless tires despite having spoked rims. When ready to ride, it weighs 235 kg, has a 16-liter gasoline tank, and has a seat height of 800mm. At Rs 7.84 lakh, the Cromwell 1200 is the most reasonably priced twin-cylinder bike with cruise control in India.
Cromwell 1200X
Pretending to be a scrambler, the Cromwell 1200X is a fully customized Cromwell 1200. Only the off-road block-pattern tires, a small flyscreen, a headlight grille, a tan brown seat, and other colors are visually different. While the Cromwell 1200X is priced at Rs 9.11 lakh, a cool Rs 1.27 lakh more than the Cromwell 1200, the visual and technical differences between the two Brixton 1200 models are minimal.
As part of its Phase One ambition, Brixton hopes to expand its presence in eight Indian cities by the end of next year. These cities include Bengaluru, Chennai, Thane, Kolhapur, Goa, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
