Nissan has unveiled the fourth-generation, Nissan X-Trail for India ahead of its introduction in the coming days. The SUV will arrive as a completely built unit. With the arrival of the X-Trail, Nissan India’s lineup will be doubled, as the company presently only offers the Magnite compact SUV.
Nissan X-Trail Design
The fourth-generation X-Trail, based on the CMF-C platform, has been available in 5 and 7-seater configurations internationally since 2021, India will receive the three-row version. The X-Trail has an upright, squared-out appearance and has a split-headlamp configuration, a dark chrome ‘V-Motion’ grille, rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding, diamond-cut alloy rims, and wraparound LED taillights.
The X-Trail is 4,680mm long, 1,840mm wide, 1,725mm tall, and has a 2,705mm wheelbase. The 7-seater SUV has a 5.5m turning radius, 210mm ground clearance, and 255/45 R20 tyres.
Nissan X-Trail Interior Highlights
According to the teasers Nissan India handed out, the X-Trail will have a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry and push-button start. Other features mentioned previously include drive modes an automatic parking brake with auto-hold function, and cruise control.
Nissan has stated that the India-spec model will also feature a 360-degree camera and paddle shifters. The second row features 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining options, while the third has 50/50 split-folding and reclining options. OH! The safety kit on the India-spec X-Trail includes seven airbags, auto wipers, Anti-Lock Braking System(ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution(EBD) , traction control, a limited-slip diff, hill-start assist and front parking sensors.
Nissan X-Trail Powertrain
As previously reported, the X-Trail for India would be equipped with only a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The unit has a variable compression ratio and a 12V mild-hybrid system that generates 163 hp and 300 Nm. The engine will be combined with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic transmission and little rubber band impact.
Nissan X-Trail’s Expected Price
Considering the SUV will be brought in as a completely built unit, the X-Trail’s prices are expected to be in the range of Rs 40- 45 lakh.
