The D Max EV keeps the tough look of its diesel version but includes changes made for its electric setup. It is 5,280 mm long, 1,810 mm tall, and 1,870 mm wide, with a 3,125 mm wheelbase and 210 mm of ground clearance. It can drive through water up to 600 mm deep and has approach and departure angles of 30.5 degrees and 24.2 degrees, which help with off-roading. The new EV also brings in a De Dion rear suspension, replacing the old leaf spring setup for smoother rides and better control.

The D Max Electric Vehicle shows off a modern, tech-filled cabin with a touchscreen display, digital instrument panel, dual-zone AC, front and rear parking sensors, and heated front seats. Isuzu says that the noise and vibration inside the cabin from the electric motor are reduced by 10 percent during full acceleration.

Powertrain

Powering the D Max EV is a dual-motor setup paired with a 66.9 kilowatt-hour battery pack. This system produces 188 brake horsepower and 325 Newton-meters of torque. The claimed WLTP range with a full charge is 263 kilometers. Charging options include an 11 kilowatt AC charger which can charge the vehicle fully in 10 hours or alternatively a 50 kilowatt DC fast charger for a 20 to 80 percent charge in one hour. Eco mode is also available to the EV for efficiency in use, as well as multi-level regenerative braking.

The vehicle comes fitted with a full-time four-wheel drive system, using new e-axles at both ends for producing linear acceleration, with reduced NVH levels. It has been set up with a specific Rough Terrain Mode.

Availability and Variants

The D Max EV will be offered in two premium trims, available in both Extended Cab and Double Cab layouts. These correspond to the electric equivalents of the diesel DL40 and V Cross trims. Production of the left-hand-drive model for Europe has already begun, with market deliveries expected in the third quarter of 2025. The right-hand-drive version will enter production by the end of the year, with UK sales starting in 2026 and rollouts in other markets to follow.
