New Nissan SUV
Nissan confirmed that the all-new midsize SUV will be launched in India by FY2026. Sharing its development on the CMF-B architecture with the new-generation Renault Duster, this SUV will rival the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Grand Vitara. It will be launched after Nissan’s forthcoming 7-seater compact MPV and manufactured at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai for the domestic and export markets.
New Nissan SUV: Design
The SUV’s exterior design is distinct from that of its bigger family. Inside, the cabin is expected to feature a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, and automatic climate control with multiple drive modes. Although the international model gets ADAS technology, we are still left wondering if India will get that feature.

New Nissan SUV: Engine
This midsize SUV will come essentially in gasoline form, with a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating 154 bhp and 250 Nm of torque; the engine will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Nissan has yet to confirm whether the manual or all-wheel-drive option is available in India.
Positioned above the Terrano, With a 7-Seater to Follow
Nissan intends to place this SUV squarely above the now-defunct Terrano in terms of pricing and features, with the assurance that the new SUV will contend against its segment leaders. Although the name is yet to be confirmed, the brand will unlikely return the Terrano badge. A 7-seat variant is also slated for production, slated to be shown by the end of FY26. More information will be divulged closer to the launch.
