Chevrolet has unveiled a spectacular new electric concept version of the Corvette in the UK, an exceptional feat made possible by its recently opened design office. The final electric Corvette will likely see its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2025, with this design being the first of three prototypes to see the light of day. This model will provide the most accurate look at the forthcoming Corvette, expected to be launched by 2028.
New Chevrolet Corvette Electric Concept: Features Fighter Jet-Inspired Exterior
The concept exterior is taken from the fighter aircraft and merges aerodynamic function with visual aggression. With inverted L-shaped sleek LED strips, the front end is further distinguished by large air intakes. The redesigned blacked-out fleur-de-lis emblem is on the bonnet to indicate a futuristic design. The body rides on a combined 22- and 23-inch wheels-22 in front and 23 at the rear-lending more to its bold, wide stance.
Futuristic Design with Classic Corvette DNA
The entire shape of the concept has combined Corvette’s old design DNA with a futuristic form dedicated to performance. A central line running from the front to the rear, dividing the windshields, supports a pair of dramatic gullwing doors. The design opts for aerodynamic efficiency but does not rely on visible wings or spoilers. According to Chevrolet, every sculpted item functions aesthetically and technically so that the car can slice through the air with little resistance.

New Chevrolet Corvette Electric Concept: Powertrain and Aerodynamics
At the top of the pillar-influencing design is a structural integration of the electric battery for rigidity and weight distribution. Lower-vehicle channels assist with airflow management around and through the body. The Aero Duality concept, reminiscent of the current Corvette, serves as a fan to help enhance the range and overall aerodynamic performance by more efficiently guiding the airflow.
A Creative Study Rather Than a Production Model
Although the concept is not bound for production, Chevrolet considers it an experimental platform to discover future design possibilities. It is to break bounds, to demonstrate what creativity can do within the brand’s UK-placed team, and to offer a new perspective completely on what a Corvette can be in the electric age.
New Chevrolet Corvette Electric Concept Designed at GM’s UK Studio Led by Julian Thomson
This ground-breaking idea was created at Chevrolet’s new design studio in Leamington Spa. Julian Thomson, a former Jaguar design leader, is in charge of the establishment. Thomson brings a solid history in premium design and performance, and he is well-known for his work on the Lotus Elise and Range Rover Evoque. Beginning with daring design-led projects like this one, his leadership at the UK studio supports General Motors’ strategic intentions to reenter the European market after a ten-year hiatus.
