MG Windsor

The new Windsor EV from MG has been introduced in India, with initial pricing beginning at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). After announcing its collaboration with JSW earlier this year, the Windsor is MG’s debut product in India. It is also the third electric vehicle (EV) in the manufacturer’s portfolio, following the ZS EV and the Comet.

Three trim levels—Excite, Exclusive, and Essence—as well as four color options—Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green—are offered for the Windsor EV.

MG Windsor EV: Exterior Design

The Windsor EV is shaped and positioned like a traditional MPV, but it seats five people in two rows, so it looks more like a bigger hatchback. Its clean, minimalistic design features full-width LED light bars at both ends, flat door knobs, and smooth surfaces. The Windsor EV’s distinctive looks are enhanced by its stepped front-end design, which places the headlamps on the bumper. It also has expanded quarter glass sections, a wide glasshouse that envelops the back, and windscreens that are steeply sloped on the front and rear.

The interior also maintains the minimalist motif, and because it is an EV by nature, there is plenty of room. The main feature of the dashboard is a sizable 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the front seat backrest can be fully reclined to create what is known as the “aero lounge seats,” with a 135-degree recline. In India, the Windsor stands apart due to the physical buttons for the HVAC controls located beneath the central screen. Wireless charging, linked car capabilities, and the panoramic glass roof—which is unique to India—are some further highlights of the equipment.
