MG Comet EV

A five-door version of the Baojun Yep subcompact electric SUV is scheduled to launch in a few regions; the vehicle was recently observed undergoing testing. The electric SUV is expected to arrive in China during the first quarter of this year, using the Yep Plus nameplate. It’s interesting to note that the Yep may eventually arrive in India because it is based on the same platform as the MG Comet EV, which is offered there.

The Yep SUV, which debuted in China last year, will have an extended version in the form of the Baojun Yep Plus. A larger wheelbase and an additional set of doors are visible in the spy photos. The Yep is approximately 3.4 meters long, while the Yep Plus will be a little shorter than four meters. There have also been minor adjustments made to the bumper and taillight design, extending the boxy shape.

The Yep Plus is expected to feature a larger battery pack than the 28.1 kWh unit on the Yep, and it will be built on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform. The range of the electric SUV is anticipated to be about 300 kilometers. A single 67 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque electric motor powers the three-door Yep’s rear wheels. At its fastest, it can reach 100 kmph.
