Lucid Motors has revealed its Gravity electric SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show, marking the company’s foray into the SUV segment. Long recognized for its excellence in sedans, this SUV launch is a significant milestone for Lucid.
The Gravity, expected to hit the market next year, aims to rival the Tesla Model X and Volvo EX90. With a promised price tag under $80,000 (roughly converted to around 66 lakh), it’s positioned as a compelling choice in the electric SUV market.
The Gravity SUV boasts a seating capacity for up to seven occupants and measures over 5 meters in length, more than 2.2 meters in width, and nearly 1.7 meters in height. Folding the two rear rows opens up an expansive 3,200 liters of cargo space, capable of accommodating up to 680 kgs of weight and towing up to 2,700 kgs.
Referred to as SUV 2.0, Lucid emphasizes the Gravity’s combination of luxury, performance, range, design, and space. Noteworthy features include a sweeping windshield across the front seats and a glass roof over the rear seats, creating an impression of spaciousness.
The interior is marked by a spacious layout, dominated by a massive curved 34-inch screen covering most of the dashboard, serving as a digital instrument cluster. The central console features another sizable screen termed the โPilot Panel,’ providing access to various car functions and systems.
While details about the Gravity’s battery pack remain undisclosed, expectations point to a capacity ranging from at least 88 kWh to up to 118 kWh.ย
