Jeep Avenger 4xe

Jeep has finally added a rugged off-road focused variant of its smallest SUV, the Avenger. The Jeep Avenger 4xe sits at the top of the small SUV’s range and gets an all-wheel drive hybrid powertrain. The Avenger is also sold with a petrol and EV variant.

Highlights of the Jeep Avenger 4xe powertrain

A 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 136 horsepower is paired with two 29-hp electric motors—one on each axle—and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in the Avenger 4xe. In order to improve the SUV’s off-road capability, the 48V hybrid system is built to provide a substantial amount of torque and traction. The 4xe posts a 9.5-second 0-100 mph time and a top speed of 194 mph thanks to the all-wheel-drive system.

The powertrain employs a clever all-wheel-drive system that, in order to reduce fuel consumption, delivers power to all wheels at speeds under 30 kmph, to the rear axle when needed between thirty and ninety miles per hour, and to two wheels at greater speeds.

A 22.7:1 reducer on the rear axle of the powertrain is supposed to contribute to the delivery of up to 1,900 Nm of wheel torque. According to Jeep, this enables the Avenger 4xe to climb a 20 percent incline when there is no grip at the front and navigate gravel slopes with a 40 percent gradient.

The machine can ford water up to 400 mm deep because it sits 10 mm higher at 210 mm than the standard Avenger. The multi-link rear suspension, another custom innovation, provides more movement on the back axle. 22-degree approach, 21-degree breakover, and 35-degree departure angles are also available with the Avenger 4xe.

Jeep Avenger 4xe design variations

There are some design changes made to the Avenger 4xe compared to the standard model. For improved visibility, the car’s fog lights have been moved a little higher. Roof rails and a rear tow hook are also installed. The front and rear bumpers now have an anti-scratch finish and are constructed of mould-in-color material. The front bumper has more protection and displays more of the wheels.

To lessen reflections when driving in sunny conditions, a new optional bonnet sticker has been introduced. All Terrain 3PMSF tyres are an optional option, and mud and snow tyres are the standard tires. Both are placed on black alloy wheels.

The 4xe’s interior now has completely washable seats, and more sturdy materials are used throughout to increase cabin longevity.

Will the Jeep Avenger 4xe be available in India?

A few years ago, Jeep assessed the Avenger as a sub-Compass SUV for our market; nonetheless, nothing has changed since then. The redesigned Wrangler and a 2WD automatic Compass were recently introduced by the American off-road brand in India. The updated Jeep Meridian, which has more features and a small cosmetic makeover, will go on sale later this year.
