Hyundai made a striking debut at the 2023 L.A. Auto Show, showcasing the 2025 Ioniq 5 N, a high-performance electric vehicle set to hit U.S. dealerships in March 2024.

The Ioniq 5 N from Hyundai is equipped with a 84 kWh battery pack coupled with twin electric motors–– one on each axle. The powertrains collective output is 600bhp but with the activation of the N Grin Boost, the electric motors surge to 21,000 RPM, delivering a formidable 641bhp.

Hyundai claims that the Ioniq 5 N can sprint from 0-100km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 260 km/h.

Aesthetically, the Ioniq 5 N receives a track-focused makeover with contrasting black trim, a wing-type rear spoiler, and a lower, wider, and longer profile compared to the standard Ioniq 5.

In the pursuit of an exhilarating driving experience, the Ioniq 5 N introduces an innovative “e-shift” feature, simulating the feel of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This, coupled with N Active Sound+ technology, aims to replicate the auditory appeal of traditional internal combustion engines.

Internally, the Ioniq 5 N caters to track enthusiasts with knee pads on the center console for cornering support, a sliding armrest, and reinforced seat bolsters. The N steering wheel, featuring the N logo, incorporates N buttons for customizable drive modes.

Hyundai’s commitment to high-performance electric vehicles is clear with the Ioniq 5 N, signaling a promising future for electrified models under the N badge. As it prepares for its U.S. debut in March 2024, the Ioniq 5 N is set to redefine expectations in the electric performance realm.

As the anticipation builds for the Ioniq 5 N’s global launch there’s no confirmation on the release of the performance-oriented Ioniq 5 N in India. Meanwhile, the regular Ioniq 5 EV is already available in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
