Rabindranath Tagore’s 1933 Humber car. It was left to the elements in Shantiniketan, West Bengal, but now it’s been restored. It’s going to be displayed at “Uttarayan,” Tagore’s home in Shantiniketan. This was reported in the Times of India on Saturday, September 13, 2008, in the Nagpur edition.

German-made 1938 Adler car, and it’s in a museum in Kolkata. It’s kept in a glass case to protect it. The wheel hub cap stands out with the four Audi rings and the MAN logo. The BLA registration is from the Bengal Presidency in the 1930s. Surprisingly, this car doesn’t have a special number. Can you guess who owned this amazing car? It was none other than Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose! The car is on display at Netaji Bhavan on Elgin Road in the heart of Kolkata. Netaji Bhavan was his home, from where he managed to escape in 1941 to Bihar, despite police patrols and tight security to keep him from leaving.
