The Callum Skye is the first car that Ian Callum, the former head of design at Aston Martin and Jaguar, launched under his own company. The Skye is an all-electric pickup truck with a sleek and intuitive layout. Although the Callum firm has not yet disclosed Skye’s pricing, it is expected to be in the range of £100,000.
With a goal weight of only 1,150 kg, the Skye is a lightweight little car. Its weight distribution is 50:50, and it resembles a Renault Clio when it comes to its road footprint. This gives it exceptional speed and mobility, especially in difficult off-road situations.
The unique and stylish design of the Skye is built around a powerful accent loop that surrounds the door apertures and a horizontal body structure that runs the length of the vehicle. The Skye has a distinctive and appealing design since the doors are glass both above and below the waist.
All-wheel drive is provided by dual motors powering the Skye. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 4.0 seconds, and its 42 kWh battery can carry it for about 170 miles. It is therefore a very fast and effective car.
The Skye’s custom all-independent suspension system can be found in a tough steel spaceframe that provides lots of ground clearance and travel. Because of this, it is an exceptional off-road vehicle that can navigate even the most difficult terrain.
Up to 50 Skyes will be produced at the Callum company’s Warwickshire plant. It will become an extremely rare car as a result.
