The all-new BYD eMax 7 MPV from BYD India is priced from Rs 26.9 lakh for the base Premium trim to Rs 29.9 lakh for the highest-specified Superior trim. The Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid (Rs 25.97 lakh-30.98 lakh) is the primary target of the eMax 7, a three-row electric multipurpose vehicle. In the upcoming weeks, eMax 7 deliveries are scheduled to begin.
BYD eMax 7: What is it?
The eMax 7 is essentially a significantly upgraded version of the e6 electric MPV, which has been in production since 2021. It has been given a minor external makeover, an extended equipment list, and powertrain upgrades. In BYD India’s lineup, the eMax 7 essentially takes the role of the e6, and it is available for purchase in two trim levels with 6- and 7-seat seating configurations.
The eMax 7’s exterior features slightly modified headlamps and taillights, as well as entirely redesigned bumpers with chrome accents added to either end. Additionally, new 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/55 R17 tires are available. The available colors are Quartz Blue, Crystal White, Harbour Grey, and Cosmos Black.
The significant improvement inside is the larger floating touchscreen (12.8 inches). A redesigned drive selector lever, some new switchgear, and two wireless charging pads are included in the significantly updated center console. It also receives a redesigned steering wheel, but the instrument cluster’s 5-inch LCD MID is replaced with analog dials. Among other features, the top-of-the-line eMax 7 Superior has a fixed panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, frameless front wipers, roof rails, and Level 2 ADAS technology. Both trims come standard with a 360-degree camera, disc brakes on the front and rear, and six airbags.

BYD eMax 7: Battery and Range
A choice of battery packs is available for each eMax 7 variant: the Superior has a 71.8kWh battery pack with a 530km NEDC range, and the Premium has a 55.4kWh unit. Although both trims have 310Nm, the Superior has 204 hp and claims a 0-100kph pace of 8.6 seconds, while the Premium trim has 163 hp and a claimed 0-100kph time of 10.1 seconds. Compared to the departing e6 MPV’s 95 hp and 180 Nm output, that is a very substantial improvement. For both eMax 7 versions, BYD promises a maximum speed of 180 kph.
The Premium trim’s battery can fast-charge at 89kW DC, while the Superior trim’s pack is rated at 115kW. Both trims come with a 7kW AC charger as standard. Vehicle-to-load charging is possible for the eMax 7, just like it is for the rest of BYD’s lineup.
