BMW has unveiled its refreshed iX vehicle with upgraded performance capabilities, extended range, and subtle design modifications. Mass production of the BMW iX Facelift starts at BMW’s Dingolfing manufacturing site in March 2025 before the vehicle goes global in spring 2026.
BMW iX Facelift: Exterior
The redesigned iX maintains its existing design template yet presents subtle exterior modifications. The kidney grille features diagonal lines through its structure and includes themes for the Iconic Glow Illumination as an optional feature. An updated front bumper on the model consists of larger air dams and slimmer vertical intakes, complementing the diagonal LED lighting design on the new headlights inspired by the M4 CS. Special silver inserts appear on the side skirts as part of the updates, and the iX M70 gains new 20-inch standard wheels, extending to an extensive suite of 21-, 22-, and 23-inch alloy wheel options. A modified rear bumper now houses a newly designed diffuser.
BMW iX Facelift: Interior
The cabin now features a new circular three-spoke steering wheel, replacing BMW’s original pentagonal two-spoke design. BMW has introduced M Multi-Function seats as standard across iX M70 models, while they remain an optional feature via the M Sport package for the iX 45 and iX 60 models. M Multi-Function seats deliver enhanced shaping, superior lumbar support, and adjustable backrest width while offering automatic ventilation through their built-in system. Upholstery choices include Castanea natural leather, Amido natural leather, and a mix of microfibre/Sensatec available in Atlas Grey/Black with M-specific stitching patterns.

BMW iX Facelift: Powertrain and Performance
With dual motors and all-wheel drive, the iX lineup now offers three distinct variants. The entry-level iX 45 features a 94.8kWh battery pack, delivering up to 402hp and 700Nm—an improvement of 80hp and 70Nm over its predecessor, the iX 40. The mid-range iX 60 now includes a 109.1kWh battery system, producing 536hp and 765Nm of torque, reflecting a 13hp boost compared to the previous model. The performance-oriented iX M70 has a 108.9kWh battery, generating 659hp and up to 1,100Nm of peak torque during launch control, marking a 49hp increase over its predecessor.
Range and Charging
The iX 60 delivers the highest WLTP range of 701km, followed by the iX 45 at 602km, while the iX M70 achieves 600km. The iX 60 and M70 models share a DC fast charging capacity of 195kW, whereas the iX 45 supports a maximum of 175kW charging speeds.
India Launch Timeline
BMW plans to launch the updated iX in India by late 2025. Currently, the iX xDrive 50 is available at an ex-showroom Mumbai price of ₹1.39 crore, though it remains unclear which variants BMW intends to introduce in India.
