Land Rover Defender Octa
The Land Rover Defender Octa has finally entered India. It is the most powerful and capable Defender ever produced, taking the iconic off-roader to a whole new level. Prices for the flagship SUV start at ₹2.59 crore (ex-showroom), while the limited-run Edition One variant is priced at ₹2.79 crore. The Edition One model will only be available for a year, making it an exclusive offering for buyers seeking a rare and highly capable luxury SUV.
Built on the Defender 110 platform, the Octa has been engineered to deliver exceptional performance on both highways and challenging terrains. With a powerful V8 engine, advanced suspension technology, and several unique features, the new Defender Octa represents the pinnacle of Land Rover’s off-road expertise.
Land Rover Defender Octa: Design

The Octa, based on the 110 body style, is characterised by aggressive styling, with flared arches, a larger grille, and a modified bumper. These design changes give the SUV a more muscular and commanding road presence compared to the standard Defender.
The vehicle rides on large 22-inch alloy wheels, while the Edition One variant comes equipped with 20-inch off-road wheels that are better suited for tackling rough terrain. The colour palette includes Carpathian Grey, Charente Grey, Faroe Green, and Petra Copper. Buyers can also opt for a matte protective film that enhances durability and adds a distinctive appearance to the SUV.
The redesigned exterior not only improves aesthetics but also contributes to the Defender Octa’s enhanced off-road capability and rugged character.
Land Rover Defender Octa: Interior & Features
Inside the cabin, the Defender Octa combines premium luxury with the practicality and toughness that the Defender range is known for. The SUV features an 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen that provides access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle controls.
The interior is finished with premium Burnt Sienna leather upholstery, creating a sophisticated environment for passengers. A mini refrigerator further enhances convenience, particularly on long journeys. The cabin retains the Defender’s ruggedness and premium feel, but it has enhancements that set it apart from the standard model.
High-quality materials, advanced connectivity options, and spacious seating make the Land Rover Defender Octa suitable for both everyday driving and adventure-focused travel.
Seats with Vibration Tech

One of the most innovative features introduced in the Defender Octa is the Body and Soul Seat technology. This system allows the seats to vibrate in sync with the beat of the music, creating a unique and immersive sensory experience for occupants.
These seats also feature a three-dimensional knit texture, integrated headrests, and enhanced bolstering for improved support and comfort. The technology has been designed to make long journeys more engaging while maintaining the premium feel expected from a luxury SUV.
Land Rover Defender Octa: Engine & Performance
Under the hood, the Defender Octa is powered by a 4.4-litre BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. This high-performance powertrain produces 635hp and 750Nm of torque, which increases to 800Nm when the off-road launch mode is activated.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth and responsive performance. Thanks to this setup, the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest Defenders ever built.
The standard Defender Octa has a top speed of 250 km/h, while the Edition One variant is electronically limited to 160 km/h because of its off-road tyre configuration.
Off-Road Capability
With its new 6D Dynamics suspension, the Octa eliminates the need for an actual anti-roll bar to manipulate wheel articulation and body control. It provides 319mm ground clearance, better approach and departure angles, and 1,000mm wading depth.
