Volvo has unveiled the updated 2025 S90 sedan for international markets, giving its luxury flagship a stylish refresh along with tech and performance upgrades. The facelift includes a redesigned exterior, a more advanced infotainment system, and a slightly improved plug-in hybrid range.
2025 Volvo S90 Facelift: Design
The S90 is now visually aligned with the XC90 SUV and the all-electric ES90. The LED DRLs of the signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ have been extended to connect to the re-styled grille with slats in a new arrangement. The air curtains on the front bumpers have a sleeker design, with silver accents lining the side. Updated alloy wheels round out the new look on the side.
Meanwhile, Volvo upgraded the old C-shaped tail lamps with new T-shaped LEDs while shifting the number plate upwards to the boot lid, imparting a more premium touch to the rear.
2025 Volvo S90 Facelift: Interior and Features
The most significant change to the interior is the larger floating touchscreen, which now measures 11.2 inches (up to 9 inches), runs a new software interface and supports over-the-air updates. Cabin sound insulation has also been improved, giving better refinement and an exceedingly quiet cabin.

Powertrain
Though full specifications are yet to be revealed, Volvo has confirmed that the updated S90 will be available with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The plug-in hybrid version has also had a slight improvement in the all-electric range, now from 74km to 80km. The feature of adaptive suspension has, on the other hand, become a standard option across all variants.
Launch Timeline and India Outlook
The facelifted S90 is expected to make its debut in China by mid-2025, with other markets worldwide launching thereafter. The S90 has been discontinued in India because of poor sales, and the news is yet to be out if the facelifted version will return. For now, the only Volvo sedan available in the country is the S60.
