
Volkswagen India has rolled out the Tiguan R-Line, a sporty and premium SUV, at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹49 lakh (approximately $58,700 USD). This newly launched model replaces the standard Tiguan, which was recently discontinued in the country. The R-Line variant introduces a sportier aesthetic, loaded with fresh design elements and premium features.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Exterior
Based on the newly updated MQB Evo platform, the Tiguan R-Line presents a very outstanding and dynamic design. While its silhouette maintains the same similarity as those of the standard Tiguan, it distinguishes itself with a plethora of sporty exterior enhancements such as dual LED projector headlamps, a bold radiator grille, R-Line badging, aggressively styled bumpers, 19-inch alloy wheels, and integrated LED tail lights.
There are six exterior color options, with thrilling shades like the Persimmon Red Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic at one end of the spectrum.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Interior
The Tiguan R-Line boasts a luxurious and tech-friendly interior. New AC vents, a 10.25-inch customizable digital instrument cluster with the R logo, and a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are among the premium features.

All of these and more indicate level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a head-up display (HUD), a mode selector, an 8-speaker sound system, and wireless charging.
Powertrain
The engine offers 201 bhp along with 320 Nm of torque and uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission to operate the front wheels of Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV is matched with a dynamic chassis control system that improves both ride quality and stability at higher speeds.
