Toyota has previewed the Hilux Rangga SUV, set to launch in Indonesia next year. Itโ€™s based on the Hilux Rangga pickup, but with a custom body created by an aftermarket coach builder. Toyota will sell the final version of the SUV.

Toyota Hilux Rangga: What Do We Know So Far?

Toyota Indonesia has confirmed that the Hilux Rangga SUV, first shown as a concept a few months ago, will go into production with a few minor modifications. The IMV platform, which also supports the Fortuner and the Innova Crysta, serves as the foundation for the Hilux Rangga SUV.

Toyota Hilux Rangga: Inerior

Overall, the Hilux Rangga SUV has a fairly basic design. It will have a three-row, seven-seater configuration with traditional rear doors, but more seating configurations will be available upon launch. It has two front airbags, air conditioning, and a touchscreen infotainment system. The prototype featured special 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, and a few more items that might or might not be included in the final version.

The Hilux Rangga pickup’s running gear will have an RWD setup, as no mechanical changes are anticipated. A 2.0-liter normally aspirated petrol engine and a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine linked to an automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox are available as engine options. Although the exact measurements of the Hilux Rangga SUV concept are unknown, the Rangga pickup’s wheelbase is 2,750mm, the same as that of the Fortuner.
