MG has revealed its bold new all-electric Cyber X SUV, marking the second addition to its Cyber sub-brand on the opening day of the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show. Aimed at lifestyle-driven consumers, the Cyber X joins the upcoming MG Cyberster roadster in the brand’s futuristic lineup.
MG Cyber X SUV: Design
The Cyber X celebrates boldness with a proud boxy family design, distinguishing it from many off-roaders like the Defender and G-Wagon. With a high stance and slab-sided silhouette, the SUV presents a roofline terminating with pop-up headlights and illuminated badges, front and rear light bars stretching horizontally across its width, and smooth surfaces with the skinniest of creases. The large two-tone alloy wheels are the perfect finish for this modern yet rugged-looking machine.
MG Cyber X SUV: Interior and Tech
Within the Cyber X, a minimal, certainly futuristic design prevails. Most probably, enough said after its reveal, but further details will unfold regarding the premium materials, digital interfaces, high-tech features, and MG’s Zebra 3.0 operating system; this one promises great things, such as improved voice recognition, top-class connectivity, and an excellent experience for the user.

A key highlight in the Cyber X is the latest Zebra 3.0 OS with enhanced voice recognition and an advanced digital interface. The SUV will leverage the J6 chip from Horizon Robotics concerning advanced driver assistance features, enhanced navigation, and semi-autonomous driving functionalities.
Powertrain
The Cyber X features the E3 electric platform, an innovative platform from SAIC, providing various alternative configurations of the drivetrains. The platform features a CTB structure (cell-to-body), whereby the battery structure participates in the rigidity of the body. This construction helps to enhance the efficiency and reduces the total weight of the structure, thereby enhancing dynamic and stable driving experience attributes.
Global Launch and Future Models
Initially primed for the younger generation of buyers in China, the Cyber sub-brand characterizes MG’s grand international aspirations. The launch in India is not far for the Cyberster roadster, and the Cyber X is to be joined by eight other new launches planned by MG to materialize over the next 24 months across the portfolio, including sports cars, sedans, and SUVs.
