Mercedes Bright Idea: What Do We Know Far?

After being tested on the 2022 Mercedes Vision EQXX Concept, the most recent iteration of the technology was just unveiled in Germany. Before the experiments appeared to show otherwise, the automaker believed the technology had a limited application. It has been stated that scientists linked the body panels to the high-voltage battery of the EQXX Concept, which led to the paint performing far better than the firm had anticipated.

Reports state that over 12 months, the solar paint provided enough energy to cover an average of 32 km daily in Stuttgart, Germany. This average range further increased in the summer months. A second trial in Los Angeles, USA, had the car averaging 47 km of range thanks to the solar paint.

According to Mercedes, one engineer acknowledged that the “Solar Paint” performs best in deeper hues, even though it would be offered in all colors. With at least two layers of lacquer finishes protecting the photovoltaic surface, the technology is said to be as durable as ordinary paint once it is deployed.
