Subtle design alterations include the addition of a new lip to the windscreen, a dark chrome radiator grille, a significantly modified front bumper with vertical slats, and a slightly rounder A-pillar. The latter two were motivated by advancements for the electric version and are intended to increase aerodynamic efficiency and lower NVH levels. It has an optional spare wheel cover with carbon fiber finishing at the back.

Another practical nod was made when the G-Class got keyless entry and went for the first time. Although this seemed like a small change, installing it without completely redesigning the door handle took a lot of effort.

The interior of the new G-Class has also been significantly improved; the MBUX infotainment system, seen on the GLS facelift, is now installed in all variants, including the AMG G 63. This means that the infotainment system is now a touchscreen for the first time and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also receives two 12.3-inch panels for the driver’s display and instrumentation. A new three-spoke AMG performance steering wheel and an 18-speaker, 760-watt Burmester sound system are also included.

Essential functions may now be accessed more easily thanks to redesigning the off-road “control center” located in the dashboard’s center. Additionally, it has wireless mobile charging and temperature-controlled cup holders. In addition to the basic options, the redesigned AMG G 63 comes with up to 31 unique MANUFAKTUR upholstery options and 29 MANUFAKTUR paint options.

The AMG G 63’s M177 3,982cc V8 engine now has 48V mild hybrid technology. The mild-hybrid system adds 22 horsepower to its initial 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. Paddle shifters and a 9-speed DCT automatic gearbox are following.

Mercedes’ hydraulic, anti-roll bar-free suspension technology, known as AMG Active Ride Control, which debuted on the AMG SL 63, is now available as an option for the AMG G 63. It pushes the peak speed to 240 kph, the standard for the AMG Performance package. Mercedes-Benz India claims that the upgraded AMG G 63 can reach 100 kph in 4.3 seconds and even receives a launch control feature for the first time.

The model’s off-road capabilities, which include a 229mm ground clearance, a 700mm water-wading depth, a 31-degree approach angle, and the capacity to maintain stability on inclines of up to 35 degrees, have stayed the same. 22-inch alloy wheels with a center-locking system are now an option for the AMG G 63.
