The new Z12E petrol engine receives its first taste of CNG technology with the Swift CNG. According to Maruti, the 1.2-liter K-series engine-powered Swift CNG was 6% less fuel-efficient than the current model, which offers a good 32.85 km/kg (ARAI certified). The Swift CNG is still exclusively offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The engine’s CNG output is 101.8 Nm of torque and 69.75 horsepower. The CNG versions experience a decrease in power output from the previous generation model, which generated 77 horsepower, just like its gasoline counterpart. However, the new model has a little bit more torque.

The Swift’s CNG tank configuration remains unchanged from the cutting-edge twin-cylinder design found on more recent Hyundai and Tata vehicles, with a single sizable cylinder located in the boot. In terms of emissions, Maruti claims that the new Swift CNG has 6% lower CO2 levels than the model it replaced.

Features including six airbags, ESC, remote central locking, halogen projector headlights, 14-inch steel wheels, and power windows are standard on the entry-level Swift CNG VXi. Among other things, the mid-level Swift VXi (O) gets a driver’s seat that can be adjusted in height, a 7-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and steering-mounted controls.

For the first time, the Swift ZXi is available with CNG power. It includes wireless charging, automatic climate control, 15-inch alloy rims, LED projector headlights with DRLs, and a rear washer wiper. According to Maruti, the introduction of this new high-spec model was prompted by consumer demand for a well-equipped hatchback that came with a factory-installed CNG kit.
