The KTM 390 Enduro R is set to launch in India on April 11. Built for off-road performance, Enduro R is based on the latest generation 390 Adventure but comes with a few alterations specially designed to suit India.
KTM 390 Enduro R: Design and Dimensions
The 390 Enduro R sticks to a minimalist, no-nonsense design built for serious trail riding. Slim body panels, a compact TFT screen, and a 9-litre fuel tank are some of its features. Weighing in at 177 kilos, it’s 5 to 6 kgs lighter than the 390 Adventure models. For India, the seat height has been reduced to 860 mm (from 890 mm globally), and ground clearance now stands at 253 mm.
KTM 390 Enduro R: Engine and Performance
The Enduro R has the familiar 399 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 46 hp, and 39 Nm torque-producing engine from KTM. This is the same high-revving unit used in the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure, offering a good mix of performance and reliability. Braking is handled by a 285 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc.
Chassis and Suspension
For the Indian-spec Enduro R, KTM has used the Adventure’s suspension, hence the 200 mm front travel and 205 mm rear travel. While not quite as long as the international version, this setup will be good for trail access and everyday usability.

KTM 390 Enduro R Pricing and Rivals
Expectedly, the KTM 390 Enduro R will fit into a price bracket between the two aforementioned 390 Adventure variants. At such a price, its only true competitor would be the Kawasaki KLX230, which is lighter but less powerful. With KTM performance DNA, the 390 Enduro-dirt R is going to be a serious contender amongst riders looking for a truly capable, ready-for-trails machine. Also spotted: KTM 690 Rally
