Honda has revealed plans to create a 75-degree V3 engine for higher displacement motorcycles. The Honda V3 engine is expected to be small and powerful. According to Honda, the electronic compressor in this new water-cooled engine allows it to produce excellent torque even at lower revs while maintaining compactness. Its design, which places a single cylinder at the back and two pots in the forward cylinder bank, accounts for its small size.

Regardless of RPM, this compressor technology ensures a quick torque response by controlling the compression of the intake air independently of engine speed. The electric compressor’s versatility in design is one of its main benefits, which Honda claims is essential for motorcycles with constrained space. Honda’s engineers have prioritized mass centralisation, improving handling and balance while avoiding the need for an intercooler and further saving space.
