BMW has unveiled its new special edition of the Z4 M40i, termed the Pure Impulse Edition. The automatic version is priced at โ‚น96.90 lakh (approximately $116,000 USD) and the manual version at โ‚น97.90 lakh (approximately $117,300 USD). It is also worth mentioning that this model is the first time BMW has made a manual gearbox option available for Z4 M40i in India. This limited edition will be available as a completely built-up (CBU) import.

The Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition boasts a freshened treatment with two new metallic paint options, Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green. It retains the iconic BMW kidney grille, the vertically aligned LED headlights, and an old-school soft top that opens or closes in just ten seconds. The rear features sharp L-shaped LED tail lights. The retuned chassis technology increases standard delivery, along with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear M alloy wheels and M Sport brake calipers finished in metallic red.

Cognac Vernasca upholstery, exclusive for the manual variant with contrast stitching defines the premium feel the roadster has to offer and is beautifully completed with ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and electrically adjustable seats with a memory function, among other comfort features. Some optional facilities include: comfort access and an anthracite silver effect soft top, adaptive LED headlights with high beam assist, Harman Kardon surround sound system, M seatbelts, lumbar support, head-up display, and Parking Assistant.

Performance

The Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition carries a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 340hp and boasts 500Nm of torque. With the new 6-speed manual transmission, it takes 4.6 seconds for the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h, and in the automatic version with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox, it does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Performance is pleasing for an enthusiast and suitable for both variants due to such specifications.

Technology and Safety

The Z4 M40i Pure Impulse comes loaded with BMWโ€™s latest digital interface, featuring a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and a high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system. It runs on BMWโ€™s Operating System 7.0, offering intuitive controls through touch, voice, and optional gesture input.

On the safety front, it includes front and side airbags, ABS with brake assist, dynamic stability control with cornering brake control, and an electronic vehicle immobilizer. Optional driver assistance features include Active Park Distance Control, a rear-view camera, Parking Assistant, and Driving Assistant, enhancing both convenience and safety.
