Bentley Continental GT, Flying Spur

Bentley Motors introduced a second plug-in hybrid powertrain in V8 guise into its previously offered hybrid range with the Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur. Known as the High-Performance Hybrid, the new option is slightly down on power compared to the flagship Ultra Performance Hybrid but still betters the previous generation in every performance, including power, torque, and acceleration W12 Speed predecessor.

This new hybrid arrangement still includes the tried-and-tested 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric motor attached to the gearbox. The net power output will now be 680hp with a torque of 930 Nm. The Continental GT propels its way to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds, and the GTC and Flying Spur follow at 3.9. Both GT models source their power from a 25.9kWh battery, which enables them to run on electric power alone for 85 kilometers in the GT and 82 kilometers in the GTC.

The new High-Performance Hybrid is offered only in the entry-level Core and Azure variants. The Ultra Performance Hybrid, which produces 782hp, is reserved for the Speed and Mulliner top-shelf variants. Of course, it is the lower-spec option, yet it offers more horsepower and torque than the previous W12 engine.

Hybrid Portfolio Expansion Across the Brand

The complete hybrid portfolio has been added to the Bentley India official website. Plug-in hybrids, including the extended version, are also found in the Bentayga SUV range, part of the very clear pathway the brand has drawn toward an electric future.
