Audi has launched a new electric vehicle sub-brand specifically for the Chinese market. This new brand is called “AUDI” and is part of an expanded joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), which owns MG Motor, a British-born automaker. Additionally, the two debuted the AUDI E concept, which provides a sneak peek at three upcoming production versions released in mid-2025.
AUDI E Concept: What do we Know so far?
In contrast to current Audi models, the AUDI E concept does not use the brand’s iconic four-ring symbol, indicating a change in branding and design. It is bigger than the recently released Audi A5 Avant. The AUDI E concept is said to offer more interior space and accommodation than its siblings with an internal combustion engine.

In contrast to the latest models from the leading Audi brand, the new AUDI model’s styling blends extravagant LED light patterns with sleek and mainly unadorned surfacing to give the E a more monolithic aspect.
Built on the new Advanced Digitized Platform that SAIC and Audi created, it has a dual-electric motor drivetrain with a combined 754 horsepower and an 800-volt electric architecture. Audi claims a 3.6-second 0-100 kph time using torque vectoring and Quattro four-wheel drive.
According to China’s CLTC test requirements, the Audi E can go over 700 kilometers on a 100kWh battery. The first model from the AUDI sub-brand is said to provide a 300km recharge in electric energy storage in 10 minutes on a powerful DC charger, albeit the specifics of the charging rate have yet to be disclosed. Air suspension and four-wheel steering are further characteristics being marketed for the new estate model’s impending manufacturing run.
