Aprilia has finally released the Aprilia Tuono 457, the naked version of the RS 457 sportbike, one year after it was first displayed to the public.
Aprilia Tuono 457: Is it Just a Naked RS 457?
Yes, but that is not a good thing. The same 47.6 horsepower and 43.5 Nm of torque are rated for the 457cc motor. The 6-speed gearbox with the slipper clutch and the optional bidirectional quick-shifter are also carried over. The tiny twin-cylinder Tuono and RS share the same primary frame, suspension, brakes, and electronic rider aids.

The new headlight is where the Tuono 457 and the RS differ. Although the design is entirely different, it still features three distinct pods. The Tuono 457 takes a different approach from the RS 457, which mimics the design of the larger Aprilia sportbikes. Although smaller on the Tuono 457, the DRLs have a comparable design. The primary distinction between the Tuono 457 and the other Aprilia models is the central pod that contains the headlamp.
The naked bike uses a slightly smaller 12.7-liter fuel tank than the RS 457, which has a 13-liter tank. This is another minor variation between the two bikes. Both bikes weigh 175 kg, which is the same amount.
Saddlebags, a tank bag, brake and clutch lever guards, sintered brake pads, a pillion seat cowl, and many other accessories are available for the Tuono 457. Early next year, we anticipate the made-in-India Tuono 457 to be introduced in India, most likely at a price point lower than the Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) RS 457.
